Zeche Zollverein is a disused coal mine in Essen [Ruhrgebiet/Germany], which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001.

In a team with Planergruppe GmbH Oberhausen (landscape architecture), Licht Kunst Licht (lighting), Observatorium (art), we were able to win a europe-wide invited competition in 2005 and take on the task of the guidance and orientation system.

With this book we present more than ten years of park design for the UNESCO World Heritage Site Zeche Zollverein. The 508 pages tell unusual stories by a wide variety of authors in text and pictures.
